PDF to JPG
A page is drawn exactly as in a viewer and saved as a picture. Resolution is set in dpi: 150 for screens and messengers, 300 for print and small text.

Common mistakes

  • 300 dpi on a long document means hundreds of megabytes; 150 is enough for viewing.
  • JPG has no transparency — the page background will be white. For drawings and text PNG is sharper.
  • Text in a picture stops being text: it can no longer be copied or searched.
  • A password-protected PDF will not open — remove the password and add the file again.
